Atkins Nutritionals, Inc, Names All-Star Competition Winners

DENVER, CO. – September 25, 2012 – For one devoted dieter, losing weight has meant more than just gaining self-esteem — she’s won the trip of a lifetime and a chance to meet Sharon Osbourne, co-host of CBS’s daytime talk show “The Talk,” and the new AtkinsTM celebrity ambassador. Atkins Nutritionals, Inc., a leader in the weight-management category, has named 35-year-old, Vermont resident, Tori Berry the grand prize winner of its annual 2012 All-Star Competition. Tori’s winning entry detailed how she lost 100 pounds on the Atkins DietTM, in order to be a healthy mom and role model to her children.

As the grand prize winner, Tori will be awarded an all-expense paid trip to Los Angeles and the chance to appear in a future Atkins advertisement with Atkins celebrity ambassador, Sharon Osbourne.

“Once I became a new stay-at-home mother and my scale read 237 pounds, I knew it was time for me to reevaluate my way of living,” Tori Berry said. “Atkins gave me the tools I needed to live a healthy low carb diet. It is a plan that has changed my life for the better.”

The Atkins All-Star Competition searched the country for the most inspirational Atkins weight-loss success stories. The competition, which began in July and ran through August, was hosted on the Atkins Facebook page. Fans were invited to submit before and after photos to showcase their weight loss on Atkins, share personal weight loss stories and invite friends and family to vote for them.

“Tori’s story is one of the many amazing testimonials we’ve received from our customers. We pride ourselves on being the choice for dieters who want to adopt a healthier diet without sacrificing the foods they love,” said Scott Parker, chief marketing officer of Atkins Nutritionals, Inc. “The Atkins All-Star Competition is a great opportunity for our followers to share their stellar results and motivate others to be healthy and achieve their weight loss goals.”

In addition to the grand prize winner, four category winners will receive $1,000 in cash and will have the opportunity to be featured on Atkins.com. The four category winners announced include:

  • Women 40 and under: Shiela Easton
  • Women over 40: Monica Gutierrez
